Angela Space is a classically trained musician and artist. Born in Hartford she grew up in Windsor, CT and spent the majority of her adult life in Oxford, England.
She has had a varied career in music. She was a music faculty member at several universities in the US and UK, with her longest tenure at the University of Southampton. Outside of academia, Angela has also taught music at Crisis UK, Headington Rye Oxford School and at Her Majesty’s Prison Springhill.
Having earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance, Angela has performed with the South Bend Symphony, the Florida Philharmonic, the New World Symphony, and the Temptations. Under the moniker Rainbow Reservoir she recorded two albums on Oddbox Records. Her band performed in venues and festivals across the UK and has been heard on BBC Radio 3 and 6 and BBC Radio Oxford.
As a fine artist, Angela works primarily in oils. She was accepted in the 2023 Indiana Heritage Arts annual juried exhibition and has exhibited work with the Bloomington Portrait Group and the Upland Plein Air Society. She is a member of IPAPA and the Portrait Society of America. She has studied with Eric Jacobsen and Dale Zinkowski.
She currently divides her time between her home and studio in Indiana and her place of solitude in Andalucia Spain.
